AFRICA
Can you hear my voice calling through the veil of time?
In dreams I sense a dark eternal pulse still pounding still living
I wish for my home in a lion colored land forgotten memories link me to the tapestries
of bright colors by a river a child heavy on my back women's voices fill the air
in lost Africa.
I am the forgotten mother and the captive daughter vanquished by storms and sails that filled the sky
let me come home
this daughter lives now in white skin but I know my sisters through our timeless songs.
we are here
listen for our voices as you stand by the river listen for our voices
we survived
