ANIMALS AND ANIMAL RIGHTS, ANTI-VIVISECTION

Carolina Raptor Center is dedicated to environmental education and the conservation of birds of prey through public education, the rehabilitation of injured and orphaned raptors, and research.

http://www.koko.org - Our number one favorite animal web site!  This is the home of Koko, the female lowland gorilla who has been taught sign language.  This is the site of the Gorilla Foundation, "bringing interspecies communication to the public..."  We support this organization wholeheartedly.

http://www.ippl.org - Another very important organization - this one located in South Carolina - the International Primate Protection League. Great site with many good links.

http://www.janegoodall.org - The Offical Jane Goodall Institute Website.  The site of the woman who has brought so much compassion and education about chimpanzees to the world.

http://www.orangutan.org - Site of Orangutan Foundation International.  A great organization to support!

http://www.enviroweb.org/cepe - The Coalition to End Primate Experimentation.  "CEPE was founded to expose the torture of monkeys and apes in the eight federally-funded "Regional Primate Research Centers."

http://www.idausa.org - In Defense of Animals - working to protect the rights, welfare and habitats of animals.

http://www.navs.org - The National Anti-Vivisection Society "saving innocent creatures from the pain and suffering of animal experimentation."

http://www.primatefreedom.com - PrimateFreedom.com is home of the Primate Freedom Tag Project as well as information on primates that are victims of vivisection.

http://www.pcrm.org - Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine

http://www.animalresearch.org - The Nature of Wellness actively campaigns to expose the medical and scientific fraudulence of animal experiementation.

http://www.hsus.org - The Humane Society of the United States.

http://www.aspca.org - The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

http://www.fema.gov/fema/anemer.htm - Federal Emergency Management Agency's site on how to best care for your pets during an emergency.  Great site.

http://www.panda.org - Home of the World Wildlife Fund

http://www.midnet.sc.edu/animal/columbia.html - List of animal shelters and organizations located in Columbia, South Carolina.

http://www.allforanimals.com - Good site from Santa Barbara with free newsletter and great information on cruelty-free living and animal testing.

http://www.farmsanctuary.org - A U.S. based organization which operates farm animal sanctuaries and wages campaigns to stop the exploitation of animals raised for food.

http://www.wildrehab.org - Wildlife Rehabilitation.  Good site with lots of information.

http://www.srdogs.com - The Senior Dogs Project

http://www.snakesandfrogs.com/scra/ - This is a site that I've only recently discovered while searching to identify a corn snake that we found in our yard.  Gene Ott runs this wonderful, informative and fun site that identifies South Carolina reptiles, amphibians, birds and mammals.  He also has observation notes, tales, commentaries and links.
