JEAN I made you laugh with baby giggles leaning over your crib gazing at the wonder of my little sister to hold in my arms. You toddled behind me my ever-present sweet shadow of little girl joy and we sang our songs while we ran together through the woods the cat racing us to the old white joggling board to bounce and swing from old tree limbs. We've always had our secrets and sister-language conversations said with eyes and hearts that break and soar. You grew taller than me carrying more than your share of burdens as we sat side by side and held our mother's hand as she left this world and went ahead to lead the way so we may follow her one day. You are my constant bright star my sister of heart of blood of womanhood. You lean toward me now to hold me close making me laugh as I gaze up at the heart of our family. Ever present ever constant the child of grace and woman wise intertwined within my very soul.
I love you, my precious sister and admire your strength, wisdom and compassion more than words can say.
